Terms of Service

Last updated: June 20, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, purchasing a plan or add-on, purchasing SMS credits, or using MapleVow / MapleRSVP (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory consumer-protection or language rights that apply to you under the laws of your own province, including Quebec. The Service is intended for wedding hosts, couples, planners, invited wedding guests, and wedding businesses ("vendors") listed in our directory.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or buy a paid plan. You are responsible for your login credentials and for all activity under your account, including activity by anyone you invite to help manage a wedding.

You agree to provide accurate account and billing information and to keep it current. We may suspend access if we believe an account is being used without authorization, for fraud, or in violation of these Terms.

3. Description of the Service

MapleVow provides digital wedding RSVP, guest management, invitation, homepage, seating chart, budget, timeline, email, SMS, guest photo, and planner tools. The Service is hosted in Canada using Oracle Cloud infrastructure in a Canadian region. No physical goods are sold.

The Service may use third-party providers, including Twilio for SMS delivery, Resend for email delivery, Stripe for payments, and Google for sign-in and authentication.

4. Payments and Refunds

Prices are shown in Canadian dollars unless stated otherwise. One-time plan upgrades, add-ons, SMS credits, and memory page purchases are digital services delivered immediately and are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by law or where we verify a billing error.

Planner subscriptions are billed in advance. You may cancel a subscription at any time, and access continues until the end of the paid billing period. Fees already charged are non-refundable.

5. Data Retention and Account Deletion

Wedding data is retained according to the selected plan and the retention settings shown in the Service. You may export your data where export tools are available and may request deletion by using account settings or contacting us.

Account deletion may be immediate and irreversible. Some records may be kept for a limited time where reasonably needed for billing, security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or backup integrity.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You may use the Service only for legitimate wedding planning, RSVP, invitation, and guest communication purposes. You must not use the Service to:

  • send spam, bulk unsolicited messages, or messages to people who are not actual wedding guests or legitimate wedding participants;
  • harass, threaten, abuse, intimidate, or target any person;
  • impersonate another person, wedding host, business, venue, or organization;
  • commit fraud, phishing, identity theft, deceptive practices, or other illegal activity;
  • collect, upload, or use guest contact information without a reasonable wedding-related purpose and any required consent;
  • interfere with the security, integrity, or availability of the Service;
  • resell, sublicense, scrape, reverse engineer, or white-label the Service unless expressly permitted by an authorized planner plan or written agreement.

7. Prohibited Content

You must not create event names, invitation text, homepage content, SMS messages, emails, uploaded files, guest communications, or other content that is illegal, hateful, abusive, harassing, threatening, sexually exploitative, defamatory, deceptive, fraudulent, or intended to mislead recipients.

We may remove content or restrict access if we reasonably believe content violates these Terms, creates legal risk, harms guests or other users, or may damage the Service.

8. CASL and Guest Communication Compliance

Hosts are responsible for making sure they have consent or another lawful basis to add guest contact information and send messages. This includes compliance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), where applicable.

By using SMS or email features, you confirm that:

  • recipients are actual wedding guests or legitimate wedding participants;
  • you have any consent required to contact them by SMS or email;
  • your messages identify the wedding-related purpose and are not misleading;
  • you will not use MapleVow to send promotional, commercial, political, fundraising, or unrelated marketing messages;
  • you will promptly honour opt-out, unsubscribe, STOP, or removal requests.

MapleVow provides communication tools, but hosts control guest lists and message content. We are not responsible for CASL violations, privacy complaints, carrier complaints, or other claims caused by guest data or messages entered by hosts.

9. Privacy and Guest Data Responsibilities

Guest data is personal information. Hosts must collect, enter, use, and share guest data responsibly and only for wedding-related purposes. You are responsible for the accuracy of guest information you enter and for any claims arising from entering, uploading, or messaging guest data without proper authority or consent.

Our Privacy Policy explains how MapleVow handles personal information when providing the Service.

10. Intellectual Property

MapleVow owns the platform, software, design, workflows, documentation, and brand. You retain ownership of content you upload or enter, and you grant MapleVow a limited licence to host, process, display, transmit, and back up that content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the Service.

You may not copy, scrape, reverse engineer, reproduce, or use any part of the platform to build a competing service.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service depends on third-party providers, including Oracle Cloud, Twilio, Resend, Stripe, Google, domain providers, carriers, internet providers, and other infrastructure vendors. These providers may experience delays, outages, filtering, delivery failures, account reviews, or service interruptions.

MapleVow is not responsible for third-party outages, carrier filtering, email spam filtering, payment processor issues, authentication provider issues, or delays outside our reasonable control.

12. No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime, error-free operation, data availability at every moment, or delivery of every SMS, email, RSVP link, invitation, or notification.

We do not guarantee that the Service will meet every user need or that guest communications will be received, opened, read, or acted on.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MapleVow is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-profit damages.

MapleVow is not liable for misuse by hosts, inaccurate guest data entered by hosts, messages sent by hosts, failure to obtain guest consent, guest disputes, third-party service outages, carrier or email delivery failures, or unauthorized use caused by a user's failure to protect account credentials.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to MapleVow in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MapleVow, its owners, employees, contractors, and service providers from claims, losses, damages, penalties, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, your guest list, your messages, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or your failure to obtain required consent from guests.

15. Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account, wedding pages, SMS access, email access, or other features if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created legal or security risk, abused guests or third parties, engaged in fraud or chargebacks, or used the Service in a way that could harm MapleVow, guests, providers, or other users.

Where an account is suspended or terminated for violation of these Terms, paid fees, SMS credits, add-ons, and subscription charges are not refunded, except where required by law.

16. Vendor Directory and Listings

MapleVow offers a directory of wedding businesses ("vendors") so couples can discover and research them. The directory is an informational listing service only. MapleVow does not vet, verify, endorse, employ, represent, or guarantee any vendor, and a listing in the directory does not imply any approval, ranking, or partnership.

Any arrangement, booking, contract, payment, or dispute between a couple and a vendor is solely between those parties. MapleVow is not a party to vendor transactions and is not responsible for vendor conduct, availability, pricing, quality of work, or any agreement you reach with a vendor. You are responsible for your own due diligence before hiring a vendor. Listing details are provided "as is" and may be incomplete or out of date.

17. Vendor Accounts and Self-Submission

Businesses may submit a new listing or claim an existing listing. By submitting or claiming a listing, you confirm that you are the owner of the business or an authorized representative, and that the information you provide is accurate and not misleading. Once a submission or claim is approved, MapleVow may create a vendor account so you can manage the listing.

You are responsible for keeping listing information accurate and for all activity under your vendor account. MapleVow may review, edit, decline, suspend, or remove any listing or vendor account at its discretion, including for inaccurate information, policy violations, or risk to users.

18. User Content, Reviews, and Ratings

The Service lets users submit content such as vendor listings, descriptions, photos, ratings, and reviews ("User Content"). You keep ownership of your User Content and grant MapleVow a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute it as needed to operate, secure, and promote the Service.

You are responsible for your User Content and confirm that you have the rights to submit it and that it is accurate and not unlawful, infringing, defamatory, deceptive, or otherwise in breach of these Terms. Reviews and ratings must reflect genuine, first-hand experience; fake, incentivized, or retaliatory reviews are prohibited. Reviews and ratings represent the views of the users who post them, not MapleVow. We may moderate, remove, or refuse User Content at our discretion.

19. Paid Vendor Promotions

Vendors may purchase promotional placements or featured listings ("Promotions"). Promotions are one-time digital services priced in Canadian dollars and processed through Stripe. A Promotion takes effect when purchased and is non-refundable once active, except where required by law or where we confirm a billing error.

A Promotion increases a listing's visibility but is not an endorsement, a ranking guarantee, or a guarantee of bookings or results. We may decline, pause, or remove a Promotion that violates these Terms or our policies, without a refund where the violation is your fault.

20. Registry and Off-Platform Payments

MapleVow lets couples display a registry, including cash funds and gift instructions. Any money sent in connection with a registry — including by Interac e-Transfer, gift card, store purchase, or cash contribution — happens directly between the guest and the couple, store, or third party involved.

MapleVow does not process, collect, hold, escrow, or guarantee registry funds or gifts, and is not responsible for failed, misdirected, or fraudulent payments arranged off the platform. Couples are responsible for the accuracy of the payment instructions they publish.

21. AI-Assisted Content

Some features use artificial intelligence to help generate or suggest text and listing details, such as descriptions or auto-filled fields. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. You are responsible for reviewing and editing AI-assisted content before you publish or rely on it, and for ensuring it is accurate and complies with these Terms. MapleVow does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-assisted output.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice by email, in-app notice, or posting on the website. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
